How do I add hours and minutes?
Add the minutes first; every 60 minutes carries over as one hour. For example, 2 h 45 min + 1 h 30 min = 3 h 75 min = 4 h 15 min.
How do I subtract time across midnight?
Add 24 hours to the end time first. From 22:30 to 06:15 is (6:15 + 24:00) − 22:30 = 7 h 45 min.
How do I convert decimal hours to hours and minutes?
Keep the whole hours, then multiply the decimal part by 60. So 3.75 hours = 3 h + 0.75 × 60 = 3 h 45 min.
What is the difference between 12-hour and 24-hour time?
The 12-hour clock repeats 1–12 with AM/PM; the 24-hour clock runs 0–23 with no suffix. 2:30 PM is 14:30 in 24-hour time.
